- Gadgets & Gizmos Camp
June 24, 2019 - June 26, 2019
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This camp is a dream camp for inventors, tinkerers, and any kids who love to take things apart and always wonder how things work! We’ll spend part of the time deconstructing any electronics we can get our hands on like computers and hair dryers to see how they work and how the moving parts work together. We’ll spend the majority and rest of the time tinkering and even designing our very own gadgets. Working with modular components like Makeblock Neurons, Arduino-compatible gadgets, Adafruit Circuit Playground Express, and Micro:bits, kids will have the opportunity to create their own inventions that can move, light up, make sounds, and do just about anything else they can dream up!
Camp registrations includes all materials to be used while at the Collaboratory. Campers will have the option ahead of time to purchase their own Adafruit Circuit Playground Express or other kits if they’d like to be able to keep their own gadgets after the camp ends. (More information about that will be sent prior to camp.)
June 24th -26th, 1pm – 4pm daily will be open to campers ages 8ish and up*.
(The morning camp offered this same week, Collaboratory’s Academy for Wizardry Camp, will be from 9am-12pm. Campers who sign up for both are invited to bring a sack lunch and will have a free bonus hour included from 12pm-1pm that includes Open Tinker Lab after lunch! Click here for more information about that camp.)
*Age ranges are recommended ages. if you have any questions, please reach out to Anna (email@example.com) and she’d be happy to help you determine if it makes sense for children outside that range.
Before participating in the first day of camp, students must return the signed Family Information Form, which will be emailed prior to the week of camp.
If this class sounds perfect for your child but this day or time of day doesn’t work for you, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org in case another section is added this summer!
Contact us at email@example.com if you are interested in an early drop-off at 8am or late pick-up at 5pm option. If there is interest from multiple families, we’ll contact all participants to offer the option for an additional fee.
100% Satisfaction Guaranteed – If after the first day of camp, you decide this is not a great fit for your child, please contact Anna by phone or in person to discuss either a full refund or registration in another Collaboratory camp instead. Collaboratory reserves the right to cancel (with 100% refund) this session if enrollment is less than 6 kids. We believe strongly that one of the most important elements to learning at the Collaboratory is the collaboration and teamwork with other students. We want to ensure there are enough students to create a powerful team and to grow our thinking power!
