- Robotics Camp
July 22, 2019 - July 26, 2019
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This camp is perfect for all beginner and intermediate roboticists! Robotics Camp will enable kids to explore the role that robots have in our world and the incredible potential they have to impact people in powerful ways. Throughout the three full days, kids will have the opportunity to learn about robots, what they can do, how they move, and most importantly will begin to learn how computer programming and algorithms enable us to code what robots can do as we program robots to move, talk, play instruments, and even compete in obstacle courses. We’ll culminate camp by building our own robots using micro:bits to build our own robots!
We’ll start off camp by introducing how coding and robots are connected, using Dash robots and simple Blockly code. After learning the basics, we’ll dabble with more advanced robots and programming concepts with other robots like Sphero, Ollie, and Dash & Dot. Roboticists will work together in teams throughout Robotics Basics as they build computational and design thinking skills like those honed by our world’s most innovative creators!
July 22th-26th, 1pm – 4pm daily will be open to campers in two age groups, ages 6-9 and 10+. We will have multiple teachers, so campers will spend portions of the camp with others in their age group.
(The morning camp offered this same week, Engineering Camp, will be from 9am-12pm. Campers who sign up for both are invited to bring a sack lunch and will have a free bonus hour included from 12pm-1pm that includes Open Tinker Lab after lunch! Click here for more information about that camp.)

If this class sounds perfect for your child but this day or time of day doesn’t work for you, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org in case another section is added this summer!
Contact us at email@example.com if you are interested in an early drop-off at 8am or late pick-up at 5pm option. If there is interest from multiple families, we’ll contact all participants to offer the option for an additional fee.
100% Satisfaction Guaranteed – If after the first day of camp, you decide this is not a great fit for your child, please contact Anna by phone or in person to discuss either a full refund or registration in another Collaboratory camp instead. Collaboratory reserves the right to cancel (with 100% refund) this session if enrollment is less than 6 kids. We believe strongly that one of the most important elements to learning at the Collaboratory is the collaboration and teamwork with other students. We want to ensure there are enough students to create a powerful team and to grow our thinking power!
