Wee Wonderers is a program for young children and their grown-ups to explore the world around us together through exciting hands-on experiences that integrate Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics.  The suggested age range is children ages 3 to 5, but if you have any questions, please reach out to Anna (anna@knowledgeplayground.org) and she’d be happy to help you determine if it makes sense for children beyond that range.  Beginning in January 2018, each Wee Wonderers themed course will include six weekly workshops held the same time each week so that parents and children can join and get to know the same group each week.  However, in light of the holiday season around the corner, we will be offering them as shorter blocks that include three weekly workshops in the month of November.

The first theme Wee Wonderers will explore will be the Wonder of Color & Light.  Children will begin each weekly workshop with time to tinker, build, explore and discover through  sensory experiences and fun hands-on stations for the first half of the workshop.  Then we’ll come together as a group to read a story that leads into the experiment of the week.  Throughout the three weeks, Wee Wonderers will have the opportunity to learn about and make their very own kaleidoscopes, design and mix slime suncatchers to hang in their windows, discover the chemistry behind their homemade lava lamps, and explore art techniques that merge with science to combine a variety of colors and textures!
