Wee Wonderers is a program for young children and their grown-ups to explore the world around us together through exciting hands-on experiences through an integrated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) approach.  The suggested age range is children ages 3 to 5, but if you have any questions, please reach out to Anna (anna@knowledgeplayground.org) and she’d be happy to help you determine if it makes sense for children beyond that range.

This session of Wee Wonderers will explore a variety of winter concepts through an integrated approach that combines two or more areas of STEAM.  Children will begin each weekly workshop with time to tinker, build, explore and discover through  sensory experiences and fun hands-on stations for the first half of the workshop.  Then we’ll come together as a group to read a story that leads into the experiment of the week.  Throughout the six weeks, Wee Wonderers will have the opportunity to learn about the science behind why snowflakes are all unique and different, conduct an experiment to learn how animals in the Arctic keep their bodies warm, combine actual snow with mixed media to create colorful art pieces, create their very own hand-warmers, and other hands-on and engaging activities to keep your curious little ones busy during these cold, indoor winter months!

This Wee Wonderers themed course includes six weekly workshops held the same time each week so that parents and children can get to know and learn with the same group each week.  (You can absolutely register for them individually as well if you want to try it out or register for the all 6 for a discounted rate.)

Infants are welcome to join you at no additional cost.

100% Satisfaction Guaranteed – If after the first class, you decide this is not a great fit for your child, please contact Anna either by email, phone or in person to discuss either a full refund or registration in another Collaboratory class or workshop instead.  Collaboratory reserves the right to cancel (with 100% refund) this session if enrollment is less than 6 kids.  We believe strongly that one of the most important elements to learning at the Collaboratory is the collaboration and teamwork with other students.  We want to ensure there are enough students to create a powerful team and to grow our thinking power!
